            Hello and welcome to my website!  Let me introduce myself.  My name is Cheryl Young and in the fall of 2002, I created Silent Collage from my intention to heal my relationship with myself on the deepest levels.  As a practitioner of “insight meditation” since 1993, I  attended many silent retreats. While they provided a great foundation to begin to observe thoughts and feelings, I found I wanted to explore myself in a new and different way.  I was drawn to collage art and felt that it could easily lend itself to my exploration. Through this expressive art I could “see” what the meditation of my heart looked like.  Making collages in silence awakened and expanded my inner guidance, allowing me to become more aware of and understand my life patterns visually.  This understanding became my point of power assisting me to live more fully in the “Now.” 

  Over the years, Silent Collage has become a heart practice in and of itself.  Through it, I keep in touch with my wholeness, my spirit, and my sacred space within.  The work is always insightful and surprising – which deepens my connection to where I was, where I am, and, more importantly, where I’m going.  Understanding happens in the moment of creation and continues to unfold after the work is done.  living with the collage allows me an opportunity to make even greater connections and deeper insights. It’s a profoundly peaceful practice which is fluid and flowing -- alive with unlimited possibilities. 

Sharing the process with others has been an important part of my journey.  Many participants have expressed their appreciation for the chance to explore their inner feelings and create an outward expression of what they’ve discovered about themselves in the silence.
